BoxBeetle Insurance Protection Tiers
Protect your shipment with the coverage level that matches the value of your items. BoxBeetle offers four tiers of protection, each designed to give you clarity, transparency, and peace of mind. Maximum compensation for any shipment is $1,000 USD.
Coverage Tiers
Tier 0 — Basic Coverage
$0 USD
Up to $50 USD Coverage
Coverage Details:
- Automatically applied when no tier is selected
- Tracking number must be linked to your registered BoxBeetle account
- Basic protection for low-value shipments
Included by Default
Tier 1 — Standard Coverage
$5 USD
Up to $160 USD Coverage
Coverage Details:
- Declared value must not exceed $160
- Tracking number must be linked to your registered BoxBeetle account
- Perfect for medium-value shipments
Tier 2 — Enhanced Coverage
$10 USD
Up to $400 USD Coverage
Coverage Details:
- Declared value must not exceed $400
- Tracking number must be linked to your registered BoxBeetle account
- Ideal for higher-value shipments
Tier 3 — Premium Coverage
$20 USD
Up to $1,000 USD Coverage
Coverage Details:
- Declared value must not exceed $1,000
- Tracking number must be linked to your registered BoxBeetle account
- Maximum protection available
- BoxBeetle does not insure shipments valued above $1,000 USD
Tracking Number Requirements
- You may insure up to three (3) tracking numbers per insurance purchase.
- All tracking numbers must be associated with your registered BoxBeetle account.
- Tracking numbers not linked to your account are not eligible for coverage.
- Only tracking numbers declared at the time of purchase are covered.
Insurance Payment Timing
To activate coverage:
- Insurance must be paid in full before your package is transferred to the Final-Mile Delivery Partner.
- Payments made after transfer will be rejected or refunded.
- Late payments do not activate coverage; the shipment will remain under Tier 0.
Insurance Hierarchy
- Once your package is transferred to the Final-Mile Delivery Partner, their insurance becomes the primary coverage.
- BoxBeetle's insurance becomes secondary, applying only after the partner's primary coverage is fully exhausted.
- If BoxBeetle does not have documented proof of transfer, BoxBeetle's insurance becomes primary by default.
Declared Value Rules
- A declared value is required for each item.
- If no documentation is provided, a default declared value of $50 USD applies.
- Compensation cannot exceed the tier limit selected.
- Declared values must be truthful; false declarations void coverage.
- Total declared value per shipment cannot exceed $1,000 USD.
Exclusions & Limitations
The following are not covered under any tier:
- Customs duties, taxes, or government fees
- Prohibited or restricted items
- Improper or insufficient packaging
- Damage caused by leakage, wear, or manufacturer defects
- Items with declared values higher than the selected tier
- Shipments exceeding the $1,000 USD liability cap
- Partner surcharges unless BoxBeetle is directly charged
